Marketing:  Walter Hailey’s Boot Kamp, Exec Tech Coaching (3 years); “Guerilla Marketing for Writers”.  My husband and I built a thriving dental practice the old fashioned way, by ‘hanging a shingle’ and getting the word out by: Providing the best dentistry possible, asking for referrals, listening to our patients, speaking locally, presenting scholarships, participating in community functions.  I understand business, commitment to quality, profit/loss, bottom lines, payrolls.  My books won’t fly off the shelves and become best sellers without ‘buzz’, visibility and consistent promotion, starting with me.  (See Promotion Proposal).

Research:  Please see my bibliography.  Traveling extensively throughout Europe, my love of castles and cathedrals still hasn’t been sated. (My kids knew I needed a twelve step program, seeing me weep with joy when a book of medieval shoes and accessories arrived from the British Museum.  But you should see the buttons, and the clog soles!)

Me:  Dyslexic wife and mother seeks employment as a writer.  Researched the Middle Ages into middle age.  Works well with others (including but not limited to the hormonally challenged: Men in mid-life crises, teen angst, depression, diabetes, ADHD and aging); deals with stress-HOURLY-in creative and humorous ways; meets deadlines (taxes, dinner, exams, prescriptions, construction permits) despite PMS. AA degree, De Anza Community College, for the record.
