Dahlquin: Volume One
Dahlquin is a story of self-determination. On a volatile island poised for civil war where ancient Celtic mysticism blends uneasily with the Church, can a young noble woman find her place in the warrior culture of medieval Ireland? Seventeen year old Eloise rebels against a future of domestic slavery, blind to what she truly desires. Forced from her ancestral home by a treasonous siege, Eloise finds she may have no future at all. Armed only with wit and intellect, she embarks on a journey with a total stranger to secure her family and lands.
Reluctantly Lord Roland is dispatched as a peacekeeper to remote Connacht, Ireland. Are the rumors true, is witchcraft afoot, is the heir to Dahlquin a succubus? Instead of answers he finds his new home and that of his neighbors under siege.
In the feminist wake of the lusty Eleanor of Aquitaine, Bernard Clairvaux, and the German mystic Hildegard von Bingen can a woman find her voice? Does anyone, male or female have a choice or is everything preordained? Can the fate of a kingdom rest upon a single marriage?
Free As A Slave: Volume Two
Choosing to marry, Eloise seeks the joy and fulfillment her mother has found in domestic bondage. Is it possible to find freedom as a slave? Roland is English by birth, Irish by forfeit. Where do his loyalties lie; with London or Leinster? Will he be able to end the bitter feud between his neighbors? Is anyone free to choose their destiny?
Political intrigue continues, and the burning hatred between Dahlquin and Scragmuir plague the tenuous Irish kingdom; with the black cloud of England ever threatening to the east.
Ordained Folly: Volume Three
To atone for a murder, Eloise, Roland and Sir Robert from Scragmuir must complete a pilgrimage of penance to Canterbury Cathedral. A road trip for the Middle Ages, but with more at stake than Chaucer ever imagined. Will the feud between Dahlquin and Scragmuir be ended once and for all?
There are four more untitled volumes in progress, more information will be available on them in the future.
RAINMOCKER
Single title, contemporary legal drama, approximately 350 pages.
Theme: You can’t cheat an honest man.
The dream unravels for a professional family of four in a small, coastal town when a frivolous malpractice lawsuit coincides with a child’s rapidly declining health.
The unlikely protagonist is a compassionate, hard working dentist (usually SO unpopular); told by his wife with aspirations to become a writer, if she can just make the time. Their son suffers from an incurable disease and his Jekyll/Hyde personality has his family and doctors baffled.
Enter the attorney, a perky, blonde Nancy Drew, single mom, looking for love, raising three daughters. She guides Dentist through the grueling months of discovery preparing for trial; precious time that could be spent with his son. To add insult to injury, the trial is set to begin on their daughter’s 20th birthday.
Thus begins a sixteen month odyssey as the family suffers the humiliation of a lawsuit with all the requisite accusations, compounded by a painful search for answers to their son’s advancing illness. Every day daunted by self doubt and helpless.
This novel is based on a true story. When it was all over, it read like a perfect book, with a classic beginning, middle and end, so I MUST write it. Rainmocker is somewhere between soul searching and mid-life lit. Give me a few more months.
I have excellent dental and legal resources for this one. Our attorney also has aspirations to write—maybe we will create a crime fighting dental duo. But in the meantime…I’ll stick with one.
